Holly Near

Holly Near recorded "Think About Your Troubles" for her 2001 album, Edge.

Holly Near was born in 1949 in Ukiah, California.

After high school, Near attended UCLA and began acting in a few TV shows and films including "The Partridge Family," "All in the Family," and Slaughterhouse-Five. She also appeared in Hair on Broadway.

Near turned her attention to music and, in 1972, formed her own record label. She released a number of solo recordings and appeared as a guest on recordings by many others including Mary Travers, Arlo Guthrie, Ronnie Gilbert, and Pete Seeger.

Near is also the author of an autobiography, Fire In The Rain: Singer In The Storm and a children's book, The Great Peace March.
