John Barry

John Barry was born "John Barry Prendergast" in York, England in 1933. His father owned a chain of movie theaters. Barry says that he always wanted to be a film composer.

In 1960 Barry compased the score his first film, Beat Girl.

In 1962, Barry was asked to help on the score for the first theatrical James Bond film, Dr. No. Barry later create the scores for many other Bond films including From Russia With Love and Goldfinger.

Barry also composed scores for Born Free, Dances With Wolves, Peggy Sue Got Married, and many other films.
