Joe Pesci

Joseph Pesci was born on February 9, 1943, in Newark, New Jersey.

Pesci began acting as a child, appearing on radio and stage. In 1953, he was a regular on the television variety program "Star Time Kids."

As a teen, he developed an interest in music. In the mid to late 1960s, Pesci recorded an album under the psuedonym Joe Ritchie then played guitar for Joey Dee & the Starliters. Pesci's film debut happened when the Starliters appeared in the 1961 film Hey, Let's Twist!.

Pesci's next film appearance was in the 1975 film The Death Collector. Few say the low-budget film, but one who did was Robert De Niro who suggested that director Martin Scorsese consider Pesci for a role in Raging Bull. Pesci received an Oscar nomination for his performance in the film.

Pesci's other memorable appearances include roles in Lethal Weapon 2, Goodfellas, Home Alone, JFK, My Cousin Vinny, and Casino.
