Marshall Crenshaw was born on November 11, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan.

Crenshaw's only top 20 hit was his song "Someday, Someway" from the soundtrack of the film Night Shift.

Crenshaw portrayed Buddy Holly in the 1987 film La Bamba.
