Joe Darensbourg

Joe Darensbourg was born on July 9, 1906, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He died on May 24, 1985.

Darensbourg played clarinet in New Orleans bands in the 1920s. In the 1930s, he played in bands in the Northwest and Canada.

In the 1950s, he recorded his own jazz compositions. In the 1960s, he joined Louis Armstrong's band.

Darensbourg's autobiography, Telling It Like It Is was published in 1987.
